San Francisco: renovation & addition in Haight-Ashbury.
The original façade of this Victorian was lost to a neo-Spanish renovation in the 1920’s. By comparing intact neighborhood facades, craftspeople reconstructed the trimwork using the existing context for reference. The restored false front hides the new top floor addition at the rear of the home. This timeless renovation was completed in 1992 on a budget of $275,000.
